OVHcloud runs the infrastructure — we run what’s on it
With unmanaged VPS and dedicated infrastructure, you’re responsible for the operating system and everything installed on it — Linux, NGINX, Apache, PHP-FPM, MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, email, DNS, firewall, control panels, WordPress, backups, security. DirektSupport provides that administration layer, working directly with the infrastructure you already have.

The tools unique to OVHcloud’s platform
OVHcloud provides rescue functionality for supported VPS and dedicated environments, giving access when normal boot or SSH is unavailable. We use it for broken boot, blocked firewall access, filesystem problems, recovering configs before reinstall, or investigating a compromised server.
OVHcloud provides network-level protection and a Network Security Dashboard for services on dedicated public IPs, showing DDoS mitigation activity. We handle the server-side complement: Linux firewall rules, rate limiting, Fail2Ban, Cloudflare and application hardening — provider-level and server-level protection work together.
OVHcloud offers VPS backup functionality through its Control Panel and independent backup storage on supported dedicated ranges. We help configure this alongside database, website, email and configuration backups — provider backups are useful, but don’t need to be the only layer.
OVHcloud documents specific Anti-Hack states and recovery procedures for affected VPS and dedicated services. For serious compromises, rebuilding from a known-clean environment can sometimes be safer than cleaning the existing install — we help decide which approach fits the incident.
More than deleting suspicious files
Depending on the incident, we investigate suspicious processes, review accounts and SSH access, check for WordPress malware and malicious cron jobs, review the firewall, analyse logs, and plan credential rotation and recovery.
Whenever possible, recoverable data is protected before any potentially destructive repair is attempted.
The full stack, not just the application
WooCommerce especially can generate far more database and PHP activity than a simple site — we look at PHP-FPM resources, MySQL/MariaDB, Redis caching, memory, CPU, storage performance and cron activity, not just WordPress-level settings.

Independence works both ways — if OVHcloud stops being the right fit, we help migrate elsewhere.
