Netcup provides flexible server infrastructure with full administrative access, while the operating system and everything running inside it stays under your control — Linux, updates, NGINX/Apache, PHP-FPM, MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, email, DNS, firewall, control panels, WordPress, backups. DirektSupport provides that administration layer without requiring you to transfer your Netcup account.

The tools unique to Netcup’s platform
Netcup’s own panel handles infrastructure-level operations: start/stop, reboot, console access, OS installation, images, network configuration, firewall management, snapshots and Rescue System access. We work with both the SCP controls and the Linux OS running inside — especially useful when narrowing down whether a problem is inside Linux or at the infrastructure level.
A firewall layer configurable through the SCP on supported server generations, complementing the firewall inside Linux. We combine Netcup’s policies with UFW, iptables, nftables and Fail2Ban — a provider firewall shouldn’t replace OS-level security controls, only add to them.
Available through the SCP for when the installed OS can’t be used normally — broken boot, lost SSH access, filesystem problems. It gives access to server storage independent of the normal installed environment.
Depending on the server product, Netcup allows snapshots managed through the SCP — useful before major changes, OS work or migrations. Snapshots are useful, but they’re not automatically a complete backup strategy; important data should still have an independent backup.
A server that won’t boot isn’t necessarily lost
Depending on the incident, recovery may involve accessing the server through Rescue mode, identifying disks and partitions, mounting filesystems, reviewing logs, recovering configuration and website data, restoring SSH access, or creating an emergency backup before reinstalling.
When valuable data is still accessible, protecting it comes before any risky repair attempt.
The full stack, not just the plugin
WooCommerce especially creates far more PHP and database activity than a simple site — we look at PHP-FPM resources, MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, memory, CPU, disk I/O and cron jobs before reaching for another plugin.
Coming from another provider? We handle websites, WordPress, databases, email, DNS, SSL, control panels and configuration.
Independence works both ways — if a Netcup server no longer fits, we help move it elsewhere. If it’s working well, we’ll say keeping it is the better call.

Depending on the situation, investigation covers suspicious processes, SSH and admin access, malicious cron jobs, WordPress malware, firewall configuration and logs. For serious incidents, rebuilding from a clean install can sometimes be safer than trusting a heavily compromised environment again.
