Independent Linux administration for DigitalOcean Droplets and cloud infrastructure.
Linux server setup, configuration, web servers, hosting control panels, databases, email, security, backups, performance, recovery and migrations — for infrastructure running on DigitalOcean.

Creating a Droplet is only the beginning
Droplets are Linux-based virtual machines — deploying one is easy, but the operating system and services inside still need configuring, securing, maintaining and monitoring: updates, SSH, firewall, NGINX/Apache, PHP-FPM, MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, email, DNS, SSL, control panels, WordPress, backups. DirektSupport provides that layer without requiring you to transfer your account.
From setup to production
WordPress, WooCommerce, business websites, agency infrastructure, development environments, databases, email servers — we administer existing Droplets or prepare new ones for production.
HestiaCP, DirectAdmin or cPanel & WHM
Manage several websites, databases and email accounts on your own Droplet.
Installation, CustomBuild — useful for multi-domain hosting requiring a full panel.
Server prep, installation, WHM configuration — Droplet resources and licensing reviewed first.
The tools unique to DigitalOcean’s platform
A network-based, stateful firewall service that blocks anything not explicitly permitted — separate from firewall software inside Linux. We layer Cloud Firewalls with UFW, iptables, nftables and Fail2Ban. Note: both Cloud Firewall and host firewall rules must allow SSH traffic for console connectivity to work.
Three distinct tools: the browser-based Droplet Console for normal command-line access; the Recovery Console for out-of-band access when networking is broken; and the Recovery ISO for booting a temporary environment to get a shell, run filesystem checks, chroot in, and recover files when the Droplet won’t boot at all.
On-demand disk images of Droplets and Volumes, usable to create new Droplets/Volumes. DigitalOcean notes backups and snapshots can’t simply be downloaded — restoring individual files means creating a resource from the image first. Useful before upgrades or migrations, but we still configure independent backups for anything business-critical.
Block Storage Volumes can move between Droplets in the same region and expand without downtime — we handle partitioning, filesystem creation, mounting and /etc/fstab. Reserved IPs are static addresses reassignable between Droplets, useful for reducing the impact of replacing one — though DigitalOcean is explicit that a Reserved IP alone doesn’t create high availability; an automated failover mechanism is still required.
Crash-consistent isn’t the same as application-consistent
Volume snapshots are crash-consistent, but DigitalOcean notes they don’t automatically guarantee application or filesystem consistency. For active databases and other write-intensive services, we account for application state before relying on a storage snapshot alone.
Where valuable data is still accessible, we protect it before attempting any potentially destructive repair.
More control than shared hosting
WooCommerce especially creates far more PHP and database activity — we check PHP-FPM workers, MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, memory, CPU and cron activity before resizing the Droplet or adding another plugin.
Not sure how much CPU or RAM you need?
- How many websites?
- WordPress / WooCommerce traffic?
- PHP workload & database size?
- Redis usage?
- Email accounts?
- Expected traffic growth?
We size infrastructure to realistic requirements — not simply the largest available plan.
Coming from another provider? We handle websites, WordPress, databases, email, DNS, SSL, control panels and configuration.
Independence works both ways — if it no longer fits, we help move elsewhere. If it’s working well, keeping and optimising it may be the better call.
Migrating between Droplets? Snapshots don’t preserve the original IP, but Reserved IPs can be reassigned to replacement Droplets — worth planning around depending on the architecture.
Linux/application issue, or infrastructure issue?
When normal connectivity is lost entirely, the Recovery Console provides another path to the server for troubleshooting.
Careful investigation, not just deleting files
We review suspicious processes, SSH and admin access, malicious cron jobs, WordPress files and malware, firewall configuration and logs. Abnormal outgoing traffic can itself indicate a Droplet is compromised and being used for spam or malicious activity. For serious cases, rebuilding from a known-clean OS is sometimes safer than continuing to trust the existing environment.
One-time help or ongoing management
No monthly contract needed — troubleshooting, Cloud Firewall, snapshots, Volumes, server recovery, migration planning. Priority and Emergency Support available for urgent situations.
Monitoring, Linux maintenance, security updates, health checks, backup checks, priority email and phone support.
Planning new DigitalOcean infrastructure?
We evaluate Droplet size, storage Volumes, region, distribution, control panel, Cloud Firewall, Reserved IPs and backup strategy before you deploy — independent of DigitalOcean, so there’s no reason to recommend more than you need.
More than 22 years of practical experience with Linux servers, hosting infrastructure, websites, databases, email systems, backups and production environments — across multiple providers, not tied to one vendor.
