DirektSupport does not advertise automatic 24/7 emergency availability. Emergency requests are handled on a best-effort basis. If you need guaranteed response times or continuous coverage, that’s discussed separately as part of an ongoing management agreement — we’d rather be clear about availability than advertise an SLA we can’t realistically guarantee.
What We Investigate First

The visible symptom isn’t always the root cause

A production outage may originate from Linux, networking, firewall configuration, NGINX/Apache, PHP-FPM, MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, email services, DNS, SSL, disk space, hardware or provider infrastructure, malware, or application configuration.

A WordPress site showing a database error might actually be MySQL stopped, disk space exhausted, memory pressure, or corrupted tables.

Our goal is to identify the failing component before making unnecessary changes.

Common Incident Types

What we check, by incident

Disk Full

Can silently break MySQL, email, logging and backups. We identify what consumed the space — large logs, DB growth, uploads, cache, old backups, inode exhaustion — before deleting anything.

High CPU / Memory

A server can be technically online and effectively unusable. We check processes, PHP-FPM, MySQL, Redis, cron jobs and unusual traffic before recommending a bigger server.

Server Hacked

We understand the extent of a compromise before cleaning anything. For serious incidents, rebuilding from a known-clean OS is sometimes safer than continuing to trust the environment.

Failed Firewall / Network Change

A server can go unreachable right after a change. If SSH is already lost, provider console or rescue access may be required.

We also investigate database emergencies (MySQL/MariaDB crashes, corrupted tables), email server outages (Exim/Postfix/Dovecot, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, blacklists), hosting control panel failures (HestiaCP, DirectAdmin, cPanel & WHM, VestaCP) and full-stack WordPress emergencies.

Server-Side or Provider-Side?

Not every outage is caused by the server itself — it could be provider networking, routing, hardware, virtualisation, storage or datacentre connectivity. We help tell the difference, and if provider intervention is needed, we help gather the technical information for the ticket.

Rescue & Recovery Access

When normal SSH is unavailable, we use whatever the provider offers — Rescue System, Recovery Console, KVM/VNC console, custom rescue ISO or serial console — to reach the server when Linux won’t boot or networking is broken.

Backups During an Emergency

A critical incident reveals the real quality of a backup

Before risky changes, we check whether usable backups or snapshots exist. A backup isn’t successful because the job completed — the real question is whether the data can be restored.

After the Incident

Restoring service is only the first step

When appropriate, we recommend reviewing why it happened — root cause, software updates, firewall corrections, resource limits, monitoring, backup configuration, SSH hardening, WordPress security. The goal is to reduce the chance of it happening again.
